WP High Risk Licence

WorkCover-accredited licence required by law for operating boom lifts with a platform height over 11 metres.

Legal requirement: Operating a boom lift with a platform height over 11m without a valid WP High Risk Work Licence is illegal in NSW and carries significant penalties.

What is the WP High Risk Licence?

The WP (Work Platform) High Risk Work Licence is a NSW SafeWork-regulated licence required for anyone operating a boom-type elevating work platform with a platform height exceeding 11 metres.

Unlike the Yellow Card, which is industry-endorsed, the WP Licence is a legal requirement under the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations. Operators must hold a valid licence, and employers must verify it before allowing anyone to operate qualifying equipment.

Our training is delivered by accredited assessors and leads directly to licence application through SafeWork NSW.
